Microsoft Layoffs: The company terminated around 1,000 workers last week since sales of Windows PC licenses are projected to be weaker.
According to Reuters and Axios, just roughly 221,000 of Microsoft’s approximately 221,000 employees globally were affected by the layoffs.
Recall that the American business said in July that it will eliminate “some” positions in order to expand the number of employees working on the manufacturing lines.
According to a Microsoft spokeswoman speaking to CNBC, “like other firms, we examine our business goals on a regular basis and make structural adjustments accordingly.” In the upcoming year, “We will continue to invest in our business and hire in critical growth areas.”
Several tech companies including Meta, Twitter, and Snap have cut jobs and reduced hiring in recent months as global growth slows due to higher interest rates, rising inflation, and the energy crisis.
